An important goal of this new Interfaces Training Program is not only to provide state-of-the-art interdisciplinary training but also to expose students to the language, culture, and technology of other disciplines and help them to become effective cross-disciplinary collaborators and leaders. Students Affiliates/Trainees will benefit from the Interfaces Training Program's unique features:
- Rotation Program - provides orientation for students on research offered through Interfaces Training Program.
- Specialization (pending approval) in Integrative Biology - trainees will be eligible to earn specialization within each participating degree program by meeting home department degree requirements and Interfaces Training Program requirements.
- Dual Mentorship - trainees will be matched with dual mentors from two participating disciplines, at least one of whom will be a member of the 25 program faculty.
- Special Events - regular events to promote student-student and student-faculty interactions.
- Student Research Symposium.
- Seminars - on interdisciplinary research topics, proposal preparation, research ethics, and careers.
