Research Description:
My research airms include: improving the update scheme for coupling the myocyte electromechanics ODEs with the finite element biomechanics PDEs based on the relationship of solution convergence to computational cost; and to test how CaMKII contributes to cardiac mechanical dysfunction and elicidate how much of mechanical dysfunction is a primary consequence of elevated CaMKII expression or a secondary result of HF due to hypertrophy and apoptosis.
