Engler
Research Description:
The Engler lab is an interdisciplinary research group using multiple stem cells (embryonic, adult, and induced pluripotent) and model systems (mice, rats, flies, monkeys) to understand disease processes, especially those related to the extracellular matrix and cytoskeleton. Organ systems and diseases of primary interest to the group include those affecting skeletal and cardiac muscle and cancer. A wide variety of tools are used in the lab to answer these questions, ranging from gene editing and cell biology to biomechanics.
