Dr. Herbert offers research training in reachability analysis and control of dynamical systems. This mathematical framework produces the set of initial conditions from which a system (e.g. glycolysis models, Lotka-Volterra models, glucose blood levels) can reach a goal and/or avoid unsafe conditions, as well as the optimal inputs (e.g. insulin, anesthesia) to ensure goal-satisfaction and/or safety.
